Within a few miles there
are several short day hikes that yield tremendous views of the mountains and
the lakes - Rattlesake (both east and west), Red Hill, and the entire Squam
Range. These are just some examples of hiking of which many more are outlined
in the Squam Range trail guide.
If you're interested in
renting a motorboat while you're here on vacation there are three marinas
on Little Squam Lake to choose from -- Squam Boat Livery (603-968-7721), Kimbell
Marine (603-968-7182), and Riveredge Marine (603-968-4411). Early reservations
are recommended. Kayaks and canoes can be rented at the Squam Lakes Association
(603-968-7336).
